Longer battery life, reduced maintenance and reliable operation are becoming increasingly important as connected devices move into more applications and environments. Yet many sensor systems still keep their MCU active simply to monitor sensors and decide when something needs to happen.
Nanopower’s nPZero power-saving IC offers a different approach.
nPZero can autonomously manage up to four I²C or SPI sensors, control their power, monitor sensor data and wake the host MCU only when required. This allows the MCU to remain completely powered down during periods when it is not needed.
The latest nPZero G1S delivers 100 nA idle current and 1.0 µA polling current, helping engineers rethink how power is managed at system level.
At The Things Conference, the Nanopower team will be demonstrating how this approach can be applied to battery-powered and energy-harvesting IoT devices, including sensing, monitoring, tracking and logging applications.
We'll also be showing the nPZero G1S Development Kit, giving developers a practical way to evaluate autonomous sensor management and MCU power control in a real system.
