The nPZ2100 brings an ultra low power layer of autonomous system control to battery powered devices, allowing systems to monitor sensors, manage peripherals and wake the host processor only when it is genuinely needed.
With just 200 nA typical idle current and 1 µA polling current, the nPZ2100 can autonomously manage up to six sensors and peripherals via I²C or SPI.
It also integrates:
• Four peripheral power switches and a dedicated host power switch
• 256 byte SRAM for data logging
• Three channel ADC with battery monitoring
• 32 bit timer and alarm
• Watchdog and event counter
• Operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C
• Power aware operation for energy harvesting systems
The principle is simple:
Sense. Decide. Wake. Process.
By keeping the host processor off until actually needed, the nPZ2100 can help extend battery life, reduce maintenance and enable new always on applications.
As Europe moves towards requirements for more readily replaceable batteries, reducing the frequency of battery changes is also becoming increasingly important for product designers.
