Product Overview
The nPZ2100 is a Power Saving IC (PSIC) designed to dramatically reduce energy consumption in battery-powered and energy-harvesting IoT systems. It autonomously manages sensor communication, sensor power and MCU wake-ups, allowing the system to collect the data it needs without keeping the MCU continuously active. By powering the MCU and sensors only when required, the nPZ2100 can reduce system power consumption by up to 90% in sensor-based applications.
The nPZ2100 can autonomously manage up to six I²C or SPI sensors, polling them at defined intervals and waking the MCU only when configurable thresholds or events require system attention. Integrated power switches, 256-byte SRAM, an 8-bit ADC, 36-bit time counter with alarm and watchdog, event counter and flexible I/O provide the functionality needed to build intelligent, always-on sensing systems while keeping energy consumption exceptionally low.
With operation from 1.7–3.6 V and an idle current of just 200 nA, the nPZ2100 is particularly well suited to long-life battery, energy-harvesting, tracking, metering, logging and monitoring applications amongst many other power constrained sensing devices.

The Stamp is designed with the necessary circuitry and components to be implemented with minimal effort in prototypes. Simply solder on the nPZero Stamp, and you have a system with nPZero power-saving capabilities.
The nPZero 2100 Development Kit will be the main development platform for the nPZ2100 device, alongside the nPZero 2100 Stamp. The nPZero 2100 Development Kit is provided as a single board integrating the nPZero 2100 power-saving IC with a nRF52833 host MCU from Nordic Semiconductor and two sensors.
Additional sensors can be added using 2x MikroE Click™ sockets, or through a side connector, for a total of 6 sensors.
