Nanopower included on the Silicon 100 Startups Worth Watching in 2024
The EE Times has the last 20 years listed the semiconductor startups they find the most interesting across the globe. The list spans all categories of the semiconductor space; from AI and quantum computing, to design services.
This year the Silicon 100 list includes Nanopower Semiconductor as "The EE Times Silicon 100 maps out the high-potential, high-impact technologies that will shape the future of the electronics and semiconductor industry"
The EE Times is an independent publication with over 50 years of history, offering design engineers and management executives news and analysis of the latest technologies and business developments in the global electronics industry.
Every year since 2004, the EE Times spearheaded by Peter Clarke, has put together an extensive list of the startups they consider the most exciting. "Yet the Silicon 100 is not EE Times’ annual ranking of the “best startups.” Its value lies in the meticulous examination of objective criteria, such as the startups’ fundraising activity, strategic alliances, scalability and addressable markets, along with the caliber of their founders and advisers."
Being on this list is a big energy and confidence boost, just as Nanopower enters a new phase. With a chip that will soon be available to design engineers, making it possible to drastically reduce the power consumption of their products. Together with the EIC Accelerator funding and customer interactions, this provides external verification that we are onto something big; addressing an important challenge in the right way with the right people.
Nanopower is one of 39 newcomers, and the only company listed under Analog, Mixed-Signal, and PMICs. We are also the only Norwegian company.
Another newcomer is our Swedish partner Epishine. The company produces high grade indoor PVs/solar cells that work very well with our IC.
In total, there are 29 European companies on the list, many of which emerge from the ecosystem around Imec. Imec has been and continues to be an important partner for Nanopower through the Imec.IC-Link program.
